This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you visit our marketing website (`home.ourshift.au`) or use our main web application (`ourshift.au`) (collectively, the "Platform"). This policy aligns with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information strictly to operate and improve the Platform, specifically to:
- Provide, manage, and maintain your household account.
- Process subscriptions, billing updates, and transactions securely.
- Communicate with you regarding updates, security alerts, and support requests.
- Analyze aggregated, non-identifying usage trends to enhance our services.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to data brokers or advertising networks. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers acting on our behalf to deliver the Platform's core functionality, such as:
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For secure data hosting, database management, and photo storage.
- Payment Processors: To handle secure billing and subscription management.

These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements to keep your information secure.
4. Data Hosting, Security, Overseas Disclosure & Cookies
Your core household data is hosted on cloud infrastructure that we configure to run primarily within Australian regions. We implement robust access controls, encryption, and strict database security rules to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss.
Overseas Disclosure: Some of our trusted third-party service providers process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union, as part of delivering authentication, bot-protection, analytics, and transactional email services. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including through data processing agreements.
Cookies, Local Storage & Analytics: We use essential cookies and local storage mechanisms required for core platform functionality, such as maintaining your secure authentication session and preferences. We also use analytics cookies and identifiers to understand aggregated, non-identifying usage trends and improve the Platform.
Data Retention: We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Platform. Completed task records are automatically purged after 60 days, and in-app notifications after 5 days. Account and household data is retained until you request deletion or close your account, at which point it is removed within a reasonable period.
5. Children's Privacy
OurShift is designed for use by families, including children, as
members of a household created and managed by an adult. A child's participation requires an invitation from
the household's primary account holder, who is responsible for supervising the child's use of the Platform,
including any tasks, photos, or other content associated with the child's profile. If you are a parent or
guardian and believe your child has provided personal information beyond what is necessary for their
participation in the household, please contact us at support@ourshift.au so we can assist with
access, correction, or deletion.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request the deletion of your account and associated personal information.
To exercise these rights or if you have any privacy-related questions,
please contact us at support@ourshift.au.
